Travel Directions & Area Attractions
Blessing of the Bikes
The Blessing of the Bikes started with 8 riders and 4 motorcycles in 1972 who gathered at the St. Ann Catholic Church. From those humble beginnings it has grown into one of the largest events in the area. It is attended by bikers and non-bikers alike from around the country and is open to everyone. Families come to walk around downtown Baldwin and look at bikes and to enjoy the vendors and great food.

Shrine of the Pines
The Shrine of the Pines is a museum in a hunting lodge that displays furniture made from pine stumps by Raymond W. Overholzer. He fashioned beds, chairs, chandeliers, and a dining room table made from a 700 pound stump without using metal fasteners. He finished the projects using broken glass as handmade sandpaper and raw deer hide.
Baldwin ORV Trails
Michigan has a public ORV trail system for four different riding opportunities--motorcycles, ATVs, ORVs, and scramble areas. The Little "O" ATV Trail is a 41-mile loop for ORV's 50" or less in width. It connects with MI-DNRE trails at M-37 north of Wolf Lake and the M-37 Trialhead. The trail traverses flat to rolling hills and goes through areas ranging from heavily forested with oak, maple and pine with a shrub, grass and fern understory to open meadows.
Big Star Lake
Big Star Lake is a 912 acre all sports-lake nestled in the beautiful Manistee National Forest in Northern Michigan. Big Star Lake features something for everybody. From listening to the call of the loons on a quiet morning, plying the pristine waters in search of a multitude of sport fish, or all types of water sports activities.
Ludington Shopping
Ludington is a port city that is home to specialty shops and art galleries. The downtown district runs along Ludington Avenue and down James Street and Rath Avenues, both which cross Ludington Avenue. Downtown is home to the famous House of Flavors Restaurant & Ice Cream Shop, as well as antiques shops, a natural-food store, a brew pub, clothing and music retailers, and arts and crafts shops. On Friday nights in downtown Ludington, you can enjoy the farmers' market in the North James Street Plaza. Don't forget about the Friday Night Live summer street parties happening the last two Friday evenings in July and the first two in August.
Marquette Trails Golf Club
Marquette Trails Country Club, built and designed by Joe Balulis, Bill Kater and Seth Bidwell, opened in May 1964 as a nine hole course. The back nine was completed in 1985 with efforts of sons young Joe and Ed. Condominiums were added in 1991 and a new club house and restaurant in 1993. The golf course is now a fun and challenging course which the Balulis family hopes will continue to grow in beauty and character.
